390 GT Carb Type?

FE experts - there's a guy on www.metromustang.com/classic that needs to know how to positively ID whether a 390 engine is a GT or non-GT - engine is on stand and completely assembled. Other than the 61-63 HP blocks with the HP cast on it, a Ford Perf book I've got says heads, intake, block are all the same incl casting #'s, just slight compression and some cam differences. Didn't the GT's have Holley carbs and the non or standard 390's have the Autolite? Any other way to tell other than by pulling a valve cover and measuring lobe lift?
