Two yrs ago,I dyno tested a 427 HR for a guy that was restoring his car. The engine was rebuilt back to factory specs. It had the stock C/R stock unported heads, stock exhaust manifolds, stock unported intake manifold with the factory original carbs and they had the factory settings for jet sizes. The camshaft was an exact blueprint spec reproduction from Comp Cams. The only non stock items on this engine were the roller rockers (in the stock ratio),and a conversion from dual points to electronic ign. Its peak HP reading was 377 at 5400 RPM. Peak torque was 433 at 4600. Thats not a very good showing for the "almighty" 425 HP 427! But then again, what else do you expect? |
