My thanks to all who took the time to respond and send what information they possessed. Also those that sent private email to me. The pictures were great and I have added them to my meager collection. I actually have a book with the picture of the cammer w/Webers on the front. It's entitled "Hot Rod Engines" and it was published in January 1967 by the editors of Hot Rod magazine. It looks much nicer in the .jpg format though. Makes great wallpaper!
I hope David will share with us any other information he uncovers concerning this unique engine. I purchased mine in the early 80's complete w/approximately 300 miles on it out of the crate. In talking with the father of the seller I learned that he was a NASCAR mechanic in the 60's and, according to him, was present at the inspection when the engine was disqualified from competition.
The cammer certainly has a rich, if rather short, history. Again my thanks for all the help. |
